Day 1 - India

Mr. Fogg ( A fictional character from Jules Verne’sAround the World in Eighty Days') went around the world in eighty days. Guess what! we did it in just ten days! The Sancta Maria International School with its group of little voyagers started its journey from India.

Mrs.Shetty, the Principal of the school disguised as Mr. Phileas Fogg, jumped out of the book and introduced the route to the children. And where was his assistant Passepartout? (another fictional character)There was not one Passepartout but many Passepartouts!

The day started with a Scavenger Hunt on the various places of India. It was thrilling as each group was given a set of clues following which they had to discover various places and culture of India. It was fun running all over the place to find the clues.

An Indian game - Uppu Pakshi- was another exciting activity on this day. The children had to take the role of the ‘waves’ and the’ birds’. The birds were to carry the salt from one side of the sea to another with the waves trying to engulf them. The game let loose all the energies in the kids and was thoroughly enjoyed.

How can we forget Rachel with her guitar who taught us the wonderful theme song “Its a Small Small World” which the children sung daily.
